Lewis designs vases to test 3D printing in metal to the max

Cardiff University’s academic wanted to test out the capabilities of 3D printing metal and so approached the FabLab to help her find the best way of doing this.  With his background in product design Lewis designed the vases to incorporate complex surfaces requiring the highest quality finishes which tested 3D printing metal to its limits while also creating some stunning results.  

The FabLab team are looking forward to working on other research projects, using their design and digital manufacturing skills and experience of working with a wide range of materials to help academics explore and test their ideas.
